Learning Hands Daycare & OSC based in Edmonton, AB is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the Early childhood educator (E.C.E.). Learning Hands Daycare & OSC (Out-of-School Care) is a nurturing childcare center dedicated to providing a supportive learning environment for children. Specializing in early childhood education, the daycare offers a comprehensive program that includes educational activities, play-based learning, and after-school care services. The candidates selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Salary: $19.50 hourly for 30 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: 16615 83 Avenue NW Edmonton, AB T5R 3V8
Shifts: Day
Work setting: Before and after school programs and day care centre or nursery school
Supervision: 1 to 2 people

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 7 months 
Credentials: Child development assistant (ECE level 1) 

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to develop and implement child-care programs, fostering the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • The candidates should lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and organizing trips to local points of interest, enhancing children’s engagement
  • The candidates should guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits, ensuring their overall well-being
  • The candidates should observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems, preparing detailed reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors
  • The candidates should assess the abilities, interests, and needs of children, facilitating discussions on progress or challenges with parents and staff
  • The candidates should establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers, enhancing support networks for children
  • The candidates should plan and maintain an environment that prioritizes the health, security, and well-being of children, ensuring a safe and nurturing setting
