Work setting: Day care centre or nursery school, Child care centre

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as college/CEGEP or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Credentials: Child development assistant (ECE level 1) 

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking throughout their workday

Candidate Status:

  • Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
  • International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children, lead activities, and guide proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
  • The candidates should be able to observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems, assess their abilities, interests, and needs, and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors
  • The candidates should be able to discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members, and plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
