The Learning Experience emphasizes play-based learning and individualized attention to support each child’s growth and curiosity. Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such a College/CEGEP
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 3 to less than 5 years
Credentials: Emergency child care first aid and CPR, Food allergy and anaphylaxis training, and Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check and Immunization records
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be attentive to detail
- The candidates should be able to handle a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be punctual, reliable, and a team player
- The candidates should have efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication skills, and demonstrate strong values and ethics
- The candidates should be honest
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children, and plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours
- The candidates should be able to engage in storytelling, lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest, and encourage children to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
- The candidates should be able to guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits, prepare snacks, and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
- The candidates should be able to observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems, prepare and submit written observations for parents, guardians, or supervisors, and discuss the progress and problems of children at staff meetings
- The candidates should be able to establish guidelines for behavior and plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
