Salary: $23.59 to $29.64 hourly (To be negotiated) for 40 hours per week

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Credentials: Emergency child care first aid and CPR, and Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
Security and safety: Child Abuse Registry check and Vulnerable sector check

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should demonstrate punctuality and exhibit dependability
  • The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills and demonstrate flexibility
  • The candidates should exercise good judgment and exhibit reliability
  • The candidates should be team players and uphold values and ethics

Candidate Status:

  • Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
  • International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to assist co-workers in housekeeping and cooking duties and develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • The candidates should be able to maintain daycare equipment and synthesize the overall situation of the children and communicate the information to the parents
  • The candidates should be able to assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children, lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest
  • The candidates should be able to assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records and encourage children to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
  • The candidates should be able to guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits and be knowledgeable about licensing regulations
  • The candidates should be able to attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children, establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children, and plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
