Salary: $32.00 hourly for 30 to 40 hours per week

Location: Whitehorse, YT
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 7 months
Credentials: Child development assistant (ECE level 1)
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest, and engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts
- The candidates should be able to encourage children to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
- The candidates should be able to guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits, prepare snacks, and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
- The candidates should be able to attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children, and submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors, as well as plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours
