Salary: $19.00 hourly for 35 to 40 hours per week

Shifts: Day, Overtime, Flexible Hours, Early Morning, Morning
Work setting: Child care centre, Kindergarten, and Day care centre or nursery school
Supervision: 5-10 people

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Bachelor’s degree
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Area of specialization: Children

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be non-smokers

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to develop and implement child-care programs supporting the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • The candidates should be able to lead activities, tell or read stories, teach songs, and take children to local points of interest
  • The candidates should be able to support early childhood educators in carrying out programs promoting children’s development and assist in record-keeping
  • The candidates should be able to engage children in activities like storytelling, teaching songs, and preparing crafts
  • The candidates should be able to provide opportunities for creative expression through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
  • The candidates should be able to guide children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits and maintain daycare equipment
  • The candidates should be able to observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems, prepare reports, and submit written observations to supervisors
  • The candidates should be able to discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings, establish behavior guidelines, and assess abilities, interests, and needs
  • The candidates should be able to plan and maintain an environment ensuring the health, security, and well-being of children
  • The candidates should be able to plan and organize activities for school-age children before and after regular school hours
  • The candidates should be able to supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and assistants, attending staff meetings and maintaining collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers
