Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have have completed a Bachelor of Education Degree and be eligible for a Northwest Territories Teaching Certificate
Experience: Candidates should have recent teaching experience in a K-12 environment
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have a strong background in Elementary Education and teaching in the core subject areas of English Language Arts, Math, and Science
- The candidates should possess excellent classroom management skills
- The candidates should have knowledge of, or a commitment to become knowledgeable of, the prescribed NWT Curricula in Language Arts and related areas
- The candidates should have experience using data to inform instructional decisions and have training in Literacy and Numeracy
- The candidates should have experience in multi-grade classrooms using Differentiated Instruction
- The candidates should have an understanding of and experience in the integration of technology into classroom instruction
