By collaborating with stakeholders and advocating for policy changes, it strive to ensure a healthy marine ecosystem and sustainable coastal communities in the region. Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have 3 to 5 years of senior leadership experience in a non-profit or community-based organization
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should possess a proven ability to inspire and manage a diverse team
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have a background in marine conservation, environmental sustainability, public policy, or a related field
- The candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to social justice, equity, diversity, inclusion, and reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples
- The candidates should have experience in strategic planning and financial oversight
- The candidates should be familiar with government relations and fundraising (beneficial) and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The candidates should value and bring alternative and diverse experiences to the role
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to provide visionary leadership and strategic direction to advance GSA’s mission to protect and preserve the Salish Sea
- The candidates should be able to oversee impactful environmental programs and initiatives focused on community power, system transformation, and engagement and awareness building
- The candidates should be able to lead a diverse team, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and empowering work environment, and actively mentor and promote professional development among staff
- The candidates should be able to work effectively with finance and fundraising teams to ensure sound financial management, secure appropriate funding, and maintain financial sustainability
- The candidates should be able to guide activities across the organization, implementing effective policies and operating procedures to ensure alignment and enhance organizational efficacy
- The candidates should be able to serve as a spokesperson for GSA, enhancing the organization’s public profile and cultivating relationships with media, donors, and key partners
- The candidates should be able to collaborate with the Board of Directors, providing regular updates on key performance indicators and outcomes to uphold transparency and accountability within the organization
