Work Setting: Work in employer’s/client’s home

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language.
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as college/CEGEP
Experience: Candidates need an experience of 7 months to 1 year
Supervision: 1 to 2 people
Certificates, licenses, memberships, and courses: Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Certificate, Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), Mental health first aid Certificate, Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate, Cultural Awareness Training, First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate
Target Audience: Aboriginal groups, Adolescents, Children, Culturally diverse groups, Families, Persons with learning disabilities, Persons with mental health disabilities, Persons with physical disabilities
Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Child Abuse Registry check, Driving record check (abstract)

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidate should be able to work in a fast-paced environment and work under pressure

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should be able to work with being focused on the client and have an excellent written communication skills
  • The candidate should be able to work in a flexible environment and work with an initiative
  • The candidate should have judgment skills and be a team player

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate should be able to implement life skills workshops also assess client’s relevant skill strengths and development needs
  • The candidate should be able to develop, coordinate and implement the delivery of specific services within the community also provide suicide and crisis intervention
  • The candidate should be able to resolve conflict situations also supervise activities of clients living in group homes and half-way houses
  • The candidate should be able to liaise with other social services agencies and health care providers involved with clients
  • The candidate should be able to assist clients/guests with special needs also accompany clients to appointments and social outings
