Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language.
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates need experience of 1 year to less than 2 years
Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses: Candidates must have Membership in the Insurance Institute of Canada

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidate should be able to work in fast-paced environment
  • The candidate should be able to pay attention to detail

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should have experience of insurance like commercial or industrial property

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate should be able to review, examine, calculate and authorize insurance claims, examine adjusters’ reports, insurance claims and precedents to determine extent of insurance coverage, examine records and reports to determine insurance coverage, inspect automobile, home or other property damage and also investigate circumstances surrounding insurance claims
  • The candidate should be able to ensure settlements are made according to company practices and procedures, approve insurance claims and also negotiate settlement of claims
  • The candidate should be able to consult lawyers, doctors or other individuals to discuss insurance claims and also consult with claimants, accident witnesses, doctors and others
  • The candidate should be able to determine amount of loss or damages covered by insurance policies and also determine validity of claims
