Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of hold a Bachelor’s degree
Experience: Candidates should have at least 1 year of experience working in budget and financial analysis and coordination

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess budgetary, administrative, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative administrative team
  • The candidates should have considerable organizational aptitude, tact, and a high degree of self-motivation
  • The candidates should be able to communicate effectively with senior staff both within and outside of the Office of Risk Management
  • The candidates should be familiar with Carleton applications and office automation software and knowledge of emergency management, disaster recovery, and business continuity programs, processes, policies, and procedures
  • The candidates should have knowledge of Finance and Administration offices as well as the broader university academic units, departments, and divisions
  • The candidates should have knowledge of office productivity software and databases, internet browsers, search engines, discipline-specific software, enterprise software, and technology devices
  • The candidates should have knowledge of the corporate insurance renewal process and ongoing administration of insurance programs
  • The candidates should have a professional designation or certification in Business Continuity and Emergency Management (ABCP, CBCP, MBCP, CBCI, AEM, or CEM)
  • The candidates should have 5 years or more of experience in administration and coordination activities
  • The candidates should have at least 1 year of experience in risk management, with knowledge of corporate insurance renewal processes and ongoing insurance program administration

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to report to the Executive Director – Risk Management Services
  • The candidates should be able to serve as the Financial and Risk Management Coordinator, responsible for the financial administration of the Office of Risk Management
  • The candidates should be able to oversee enterprise-wide risk management programs and technologies
  • The candidates should be able to provide key administrative duties within the portfolio, including supporting annual leave reporting, minute taking, and scheduling
  • The candidates should be able to manage office maintenance, communication coordination, and organization of staff training
  • The candidates should be able to maintain the department’s website and intranet and manage department finances and assist with budget planning
