POISSONNERIE LEGER FISHERIES LTEE/LTD based in Trois-Ruisseaux, NB is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Fish plant worker. POISSONNERIE LEGER FISHERIES LTEE/LTD specializes in the harvesting, processing, and distribution of live and fresh seafood, including lobster, crab, scallops, and various species of fish. We own and operates several fishing vessels and employs experienced fishermen who use sustainable fishing practices to ensure that the seafood is harvested responsibly and with minimal impact on the environment. The candidates who will get selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Job Description:

Position: Fish plant worker
No of Vacancies: 6
Salary: $15.30 hourly 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Seasonal employment Full time
Location: Trois-Ruisseaux, NB

Work setting: Relocation costs covered by employer, Willing to relocate


Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English or French Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Field work location experience: New Brunswick

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be physically demanding, and a repetitive tasker
  • The candidates should be able to work with attention to detail
  • The candidates should be able to stand for extended periods
  • The candidates should be willing to for overtime
  • The candidates should be able to handle Hand-eye co-ordination
  • The candidates should be able to do manual dexterity

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should be flexible and reliable
  • The candidates should be able to work as a team player

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorized (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position


  • The candidates should be able to cut, clean and trim fish or seafood prior to marketing or further processing, scrape away scales, cut fish, separate fillets and remove scrap parts using knife
  • The candidates should be able to check fish fillets to determine optimal number and size of fillet sections, cut sections according to specifications and place in container for weighing
  • The candidates should be able to check products and packaging for defects and to ensure conformance to company standards and perform corrective machine adjustments as required
  • The candidates should be able to disjoint and remove meat from lobsters or other crustaceans preparatory to canning or further processing
  • The candidates should be able to record production information
