Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English and French Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of university degree in a Civil or Construction Engineering or Technology
Experience: Candidates should have previous experience supervising unionized employees
Physical Requirements:
- The candidate should have proven ability to supervise, motivate, train, evaluate, and manage the performance of employees

- The candidates should understand and apply relevant laws and regulations and apply administrative policies, processes, and procedures
- The candidates should apply the principles and practices of quality assurance and analytical skills
- The candidates should be able to communicate in a variety of mediums and maintain documentation and historical records
- The candidate should have a post-secondary college diploma or a combination of education, training, and experience deemed to be equivalent
- The candidate should possess a valid non-probationary class “G” Driver’s License, with the ability to upgrade to a class “DZ” license
- The candidate should have demonstrated leadership and management experience in construction, repair, maintenance, and inspection of track, roads, or related infrastructure Specialized knowledge of or experience with railway track
- The candidate should have excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders and audit systems, processes, and products
- The candidate should possess sound judgment, supported by excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to effectively plan and manage projects and use office technology, software, and applications
- The candidate should be proficient in the use of computers and relevant software applications MS Office and maintenance management systems
- The candidate should have knowledge of, or be able to understand and apply collective agreements, policies and procedures, legislation, and regulations applicable to the work performed
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to directly supervise crews of unionized employees and contractors performing various roles related to the maintenance, rehabilitation, and construction of streetcar track and associated work and oversee Streetcar Way and track maintenance activities, reporting to the Supervisor, Construction and Preventive Maintenance
- The candidates should be able to plan, develop, and monitor projects, including tracking related data, records, schedules, costs, equipment or materials inventory, and providing updates or follow-ups and play a critical role in instructing employees on safe work methods and habits, conduct training sessions, and perform investigations, inspections, and quality audits
- The candidates should be able to inspect track-related equipment, tools, and materials to verify quality and reliability, and recommend improvements to functionality through forming, bending, welding, or other methods of fabrication
- The candidates should be able to perform administrative tasks related to employee supervision, approve requests, and prepare reports, schedules, estimates, and other related documentation or correspondence
- The candidates should be able to ensure that employees are appropriately trained and performing assigned work safely and in accordance with legislated/technical standards and corporate policies
- The candidates should be able to liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and identify improvements, efficiencies, and cost-saving opportunities for daily operations or projects
- The candidates should be able to participate in the TTC’s Customer Service Ambassador Program and promote a respectful work and service environment that supports diversity, inclusion, and is free from harassment and discrimination
