Doukhobor Discovery Centre based in Castlegar, BC is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Gift shop clerk . Doukhobor Discovery Centre is home to ten historical buildings on ten acres of land with more than 1600 donated artifacts, audio/visual galleries and interactive displays that illustrate, demonstrate and celebrate the culture and heritage of the Doukhobors. Our beautifully manicured courtyard grounds, heritage buildings and scenic views provide a stunning setting for weddings, family reunions, business retreats and more. The candidates who will get selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications
Student status: No degree, certificate or diploma, Full time enrollment

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and a repetitive tasker
  • The candidates should be able to bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods
  • The candidates should be able to handle heavy loads

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be adaptable, collaborative, creative, efficient, energetic, goal-oriented, hardworking, integrated, outgoing, and should have positive attitude
  • The candidates should be quick learner, dependable, reliable, and should have excellent oral communication

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to operate cash register, provide advice about merchandise, assist in display of merchandise
  • The candidates should be able to estimate or quote prices, credit or contract terms, warranties, and delivery dates, greet customers and discuss type, quality and quantity of merchandise or services sought for purchase, rental or lease
  • The candidates should be able to maintain sales records for inventory control
  • The candidates should be able to prepare merchandise for purchase, rental or lease
  • The candidates should be able to prepare sales, rental or leasing contracts and accept cash, cheque, credit card or automatic debit payment
