Habitat for Humanity Southeast BC based in Castlegar, BC is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Sales associate. Habitat for Humanity Southeast BC is a non-profit organization dedicated to building affordable housing and providing homeownership opportunities for families in need. Since our establishment, we have worked tirelessly to address the housing crisis in the region. Through volunteer efforts and community partnerships, we construct safe, decent, and affordable homes, empowering families to achieve stability and self-reliance. The candidates who will get selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Job Description:

Position: Sales associate
No of Vacancies: 1
Salary: $17.00 to $19.00 hourly (to be negotiated) for 12 to 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Seasonal employment Part-time
Location: Castlegar, BC
Shifts: Day, Weekend, Flexible Hours, To be determined
Work setting: Second-hand store

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • The candidates should be able to stand, bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods
  • The candidates should be able to handle weight up to 9 kg (20 lbs)

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be adaptable, collaborative, energetic, integrated, dependable, flexible, and reliable
  • The candidates should have efficient interpersonal skills, positive attitude, and be able to work as a team player

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorized (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to operate cash register, provide advice about merchandise, assist in display of merchandise
  • The candidates should be able to greet customers and discuss type, quality and quantity of merchandise or services sought for purchase, rental or lease
  • The candidates should be able to prepare merchandise for purchase, rental, or lease
