Salary: $22.45 hourly for 84 hours bi-weekly

Location: Antigonish, NS
Shifts: Day, Weekend, 08:00 to 20:00
Transportation information: Own transportation, own vehicle, and valid driver’s license
Work setting: Group home
Supervision: 1 to 2 people

Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Area of specialization: Community service organization
Computer and technology knowledge: Electronic mail and MS Office
Credentials: Mandt System training, Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate, Medication Administration Certificate, First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, and Food Safety Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate personal and social adjustment and maintain good health, including refraining from substance abuse, gambling, and behavior disorders
- The candidates should possess the ability to work independently and be comfortable in a fast-paced environment, able to work under pressure
- The candidates should demonstrate attention to detail in all tasks and be capable of handling weights up to 9 kg (20 lbs) as required
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate accuracy in their work and possess efficient interpersonal skills, along with excellent oral communication abilities
- The candidates should have interpersonal awareness, exercise good judgement, and uphold values and ethics in their conduct
- The candidates should show a strong focus on client needs and maintain excellent written communication skills, while also exhibiting flexibility, taking initiative, and being team players
- The candidates should be organized in their approach to tasks
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to prepare reports or case histories and perform administrative and office activities
- The candidates should be able to assess clients’ relevant skill strengths and development needs and engage in food preparation
- The candidates should be able to provide suicide and crisis intervention, resolve conflict situations, and assist clients/guests with special needs, while also performing housekeeping activities
