Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completed Grade 12
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Lifeguard, Instructor and aquatic program leader

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have the ability to work in a high-energy, positive environment

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have plus formal lifeguard and instructor training and a pool operation course
  • The candidates should possess valid certificates in, National Lifeguard Service – Pool option, Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor, Standard First Aid with CPR C, Pool Operator Level One or be willing to obtain it prior to the start date

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide leadership, direction, and supervision to a team of high-performing lifeguards, instructors, and facility support staff
  • The candidates should be able to ensure the facility is well maintained and kept clean and safe daily, in accordance with the BC Health Act
  • The candidates should be able to perform and direct staff in routine maintenance, including cleaning change rooms, conducting scheduled water quality checks, and ensuring equipment functions properly
  • The candidates should be able to instruct leadership courses, conduct in-service training, and assist in developing program and activity schedules suited to the needs and interests of facility participants
  • The candidates should be able to lead or participate in planning, organizing, and delivering special events and leisure swim activities
