Salary: $48.00 to $58.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Seasonal employment Full time
Location: 90 Bell Rd. Fort Nelson, BC V0C 1R0
Shifts: Flexible Hours
Transportation information: Own vehicle, valid driver’s licence, own transportation, public transportation is not available, and willing to travel for extended periods
Work setting: Staff accommodation available, remote location, and willing to relocate

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need other trades certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates need experience of 3 years to less than 5 years
Credentials: Commercial Pilot Licence – rotors, Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Licence, Visual Flight Rating, and First Aid Certificate
Security and safety: Medical exam

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have experience in commercial aviation and government transport operations, including bush pilot operations
  • The candidates should be comfortable working outdoors, adapting to varying weather conditions and noisy environments
  • The candidates should have experience in search and rescue operations, conducting aerial surveys, and forest firefighting operations

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be accurate, ensuring precision and correctness in their work, and be client-focused, demonstrating a strong commitment to understanding and meeting client needs
  • The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills, fostering positive and effective communication, and excel in excellent oral and written communication, conveying ideas clearly and persuasively, producing articulate and well-structured written content
  • The candidates should be flexible, adapting easily to changes in tasks, priorities, or work environments, demonstrate initiative by proactively addressing tasks and challenges, and exhibit sound judgment in decision-making
  • The candidates should be organized, managing tasks and responsibilities in a systematic and efficient manner, be reliable, consistently delivering high-quality work within established timelines, and be team players, collaborating effectively with colleagues to achieve common goals while upholding values and ethics in their work

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to fly fixed-wing aircraft or helicopters, monitoring the operation of the engine and aircraft systems during flight
  • The candidates should be able to conduct a pre-flight inspection, check passenger and cargo distribution for weight and balance specifications, and contact control towers for takeoff clearances and arrival instructions
  • The candidates should be able to perform post-flight inspections, record equipment malfunctions, document corrective actions taken during flight, report required repairs to ground maintenance personnel, maintain communications with flight dispatchers and weather forecasters, and respond to and report in-flight emergencies and malfunctions
