Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience and training
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of three years of related experience in LAN, workplace operating systems, development environments (client/server and web) and a wide variety of system tools

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have the ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • The candidates should have the ability to provide technical guidance, train, and mentor junior staff

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have experience with relational databases and SQL and should possess a high level of expertise in designing, writing, and maintaining programs
  • The candidates should have training and/or experience with AMANDA, Maximo, and GeoMedia and experience with GIS concepts and tools
  • The candidates should demonstrate proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite of Products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • The candidates should demonstrate problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment in fast-paced, and often, stressful conditions
  • The candidates should have strong verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical information to individuals of varying technical ability
  • The candidates should have written communication skills with the ability to express ideas clearly and concisely
  • The candidates should possess analytical skills with the ability to design and develop a solution to meet the customer’s requirements and provide excellent customer service
  • The candidates should have the ability to learn and adapt to a changing technological development and operating environment
  • The candidates should have the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization and external contacts
  • The candidates should be willing and able to obtain specific courses and/or experience as is required by the portfolio assigned

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to independently undertake small and medium projects for the development or support of Information Systems
  • The candidates should be able to participate with the Information Systems Coordinator on medium to large size projects for the development or support of Information Systems
  • The candidates should be able to maintain, support, and operate the application software component of the information system(s)
  • The candidates should be able to develop information systems and associated documentation (test plans, technical specs, training guides) to meet customers’ needs
  • The candidates should be able to analyze business requirements and design small to medium information systems in collaboration with stakeholders
  • The candidates should be able to implement information systems and provide training, as required, to achieve successful user sign-off
  • The candidates should be able to perform other key duties, including the maintenance/advancement of IT knowledge and assisting co-workers
  • The candidates should be able to perform related duties consistent with the classification as required
