Salary: $27.00 hourly for 40 to 44 hours per week
Employment Type: Full time
Location: Cayuga, ON
Shifts: Day, Weekend, Evening, Night and Early Morning
Work Setting: Urban area, rural area, relocation costs not covered by employer, commercial, residential, sewers and water mains and sidewalks and curbs
Work site environment: Candidates should work in outdoors
Security and safety: Basic security clearance required, criminal record should checked, driver’s validity licence should checked
Own tools/equipment: Candidates should have tools, steel-toed safety boots, hard hat and gloves
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language.
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset.
Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses: Candidates must have Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
Type of materials: Colours and sealers and light weight concrete
Physical Requirements:
- The candidate should be able to handle heavy loads
- The candidate should be physically strong
- The candidate should be able to pay attention to detail
- The candidate should be able to stand for extended periods
- The candidate should be able for bending, crouching, kneeling
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should have accuracy
- The candidate should be able to work in a flexible environment
- The candidate should have an excellent oral communication
- The candidate should be a team player
Responsibilities:
- The candidate should be able to check formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement materials and direct placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade
- The candidate should be able to fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement
- The candidate should be able to operate power vibrators to compact concrete
- The candidate should be able to level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification
- The candidate should be able to impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools
- The candidate should be able to instruct apprentices
- The candidate should be able to install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills and other fixtures
- The candidate should be able to apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces
- The candidate should be able to make waterproof, damp proof and restore surfaces
- The candidate should be able to repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures
- The candidate should be able to read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications
