Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills and work well in both independent and team-based work environments, a keen attention to detail and be comfortable working in a typical 35-hour workweek, 7 hours a day
- The candidates should be prepared to work in a comfortable office environment with frequent opportunities to move about
- The candidates should be able to read and interpret multiple sources of information and have regular requirements to type, read, and work on a computer
- The candidates should be able to handle pressure with deadlines and need for accuracy, required to make occasional visits to other provincial government offices
- The candidates should be organized and able to prioritize their work, be able to multi-task and switch focus quickly and the ability to synthesize information quickly and formulate conclusions and recommendations
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be proficient with computers, including office software such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
- The candidates should have previous knowledge or experience with project management, policy analysis, process improvement, and spreadsheets and the ability to think critically and solve complex problems
- The candidates should be able to communicate effectively in written and verbal form, as they may be required to collaborate with other team members, document their work, or present their findings
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to work closely with subject matter experts within the department and with external partners
- The candidates should be able to address information gaps and opportunities to support the overall management and advancement of the department’s priorities
- The candidates should be able to coordinate the collection of feedback from multiple resources, support the management and advancement of projects and initiatives
- The candidates should be able to conduct public policy research and critical analysis, analyze statistics and data and conduct jurisdictional and literature reviews
- The candidates should be able to develop presentation material to engage key partners and attend and report on meetings with key partners
- The candidates should be able to participate in working groups and collaborate with others and present the results of their work in reports, briefing notes, and presentations
