Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Credentials: Child development assistant (ECE level 1), First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be capable of efficiently managing repetitive tasks
  • The candidates should be able to handle a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
  • The candidates should be adept at bending, crouching, and kneeling

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be dependable
  • The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills
  • The candidates should demonstrate excellent oral communication
  • The candidates should exhibit excellent written communication
  • The candidates should be reliable
  • The candidates should be team players
  • The candidates should uphold values and ethics

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits, as well as assess the abilities, interests, and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members
  • The candidates should observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors, while having knowledge of licensing regulations
  • The candidates should establish guidelines for behavior and develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • The candidates should lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest, while encouraging children to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
