Aitken Robertson Professional Corporation is a criminal law firm that covers the entire province of Ontario, defending clients with criminal charges including drinking and driving offenses, drug offenses, assault, theft, fraud and much more. With crimes we also deal with Highway Traffic Act and provincial offenses. We are known as an experienced team that endeavours to obtain optimal results for our clients. The candidates who will get selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Salary: $20.00 to $24.00 per hour for 37.5 hours per week
Employment Type: Full time
Location: Oshawa, ON
Shifts: 09:00 to 17:30
Work Setting: Criminal law
Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver’s license, Own vehicle

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language.
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualification such as college, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
Experience: Candidates need an experience of 1-2 year
Computer and technology knowledge: PCLaw in the Cloud, MS Word, Electronic mail, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, MS Windows
Area of Work Experience: Charts, tables, graphs and diagrams, Correspondence, Invoices, Reports and records
Security and Safety: Criminal record check

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidate should be able to work in a fast-paced environment and work under pressure
  • The candidate should be able to work with tight deadlines and pay attention to detail
  • The candidate should be able to handle large caseload

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should be accurate and be able to work with being focused on the client
  • The candidate should be someone who can be dependent on and have an efficient interpersonal skills
  • The candidate should have an excellent oral and written communication skills
  • The candidate should be able to work in an organized way and be someone who can be relied on
  • The candidate should be a team player

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate should be able to schedule and confirm appointments also maintain filing system
  • The candidate should be able to record and prepare minutes of court sessions, meetings or conferences also open and distribute regular and electronic incoming mail and other material and co-ordinate the flow of information
  • The candidate should be able to prepare and key in correspondence and legal documents also review and proofread documents and correspondence to ensure compliance with legal procedures and grammatical usage
