Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be a minimum of 15 (fifteen) years of age
- The candidates should have High Five: Principles in Healthy Child Development
- The candidates should have the ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- The candidates should have previous leadership experience working with children
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have current Lifesaving National Lifeguard Pool Certification
- The candidates should have current Lifesaving Society Swim instructors, Lifesaving Society Lifesaving Instructor, and Lifesaving Society Emergency First Aid Instructor certifications
- The candidates should possess Standard First Aid with CPR –C (dated within 3 years)
- The candidates should possess strong organizational, customer service, and both written and oral communication skills
- The candidates should obtain an acceptable and current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check at their own expense prior to the employment commencement date
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to keep current with industry trends and class formats, attend all pre-season in-service/training sessions, as it is mandatory, and understand, adhere to, and enforce corporate policies and procedures, confidentiality guidelines, emergency procedures, and health and safety standards for all participants and staff
- The candidates should be able to maintain complete vigilance while on duty, ensure proper zone coverage and guard station positioning, and be ready to respond to any emergency situation
- The candidates should be able to complete administrative duties in a timely manner (e.g., attendance, incident/accident reports, opening and closing procedures), provide a high level of front-line customer service by greeting and engaging participants, and assist other instructors in their lessons while not teaching a class
- The candidates should be able to maintain a safe and tidy program space, ensuring equipment is set up, clean, and stored appropriately, and report all concerns, accidents, and incidents to the immediate supervisor for follow-up, taking appropriate action
- The candidates should be able to plan, organize and implement a high-quality program that is stimulating and enjoyable for all participants and Supervise and maintain a safe, enjoyable environment for all users
