Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have a 4-year bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Accounting, Operations Management or related field
Experience: Candidates should have 5 years of experience in business planning and/or quality management system implementation including industry best practices and their strategic applications and business principles (equivalency will be considered

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should have relevant professional experience in management, operations, and administration
  • The candidate should possess significant knowledge in quality management systems, business process enhancement, business planning and strategy development, project management, benchmarking, and key performance development
  • The candidate should demonstrate understanding and knowledge of administrative environments, governance, and governing policies, procedures, and related practices
  • The candidate should have a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or Chartered General Accountant (CPA) designation
  • The candidate should possess an Institute of Asset Management (IAM) Diploma or equivalent
  • The candidate should have completed Lean Six Sigma training or certification
  • The candidate should hold a Project Management Professional Certification (PMP)
  • The candidate should be a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) or equivalent
  • The candidate should have completed leadership development training
  • The candidate should have completed a Transformational Change course
  • The candidate should have facility management training or certification

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to establish, implement, and continually update the Quality Management System (QMS) and compliance governance processes in accordance with industry standards to meet ever-evolving business and quality compliance needs
  • The candidates should be able to identify potential risks associated with quality or regulatory requirements, develop and implement solutions for them, and verify the proper implementation and effectiveness
  • The candidates should be able to plan, organize, lead, and monitor quality and compliance activities across FSI
  • The candidates should be able to evaluate and analyze Key Performance Indicator (KPI) data, identify trends for solutions or improvement
  • The candidates should be able to manage the recurring Business Planning process, reporting, and associated activities, including developing strategies, objectives, work plans, and performance measures, and communicating in quarterly business plan updates
  • The candidates should be able to identify opportunities for service enhancement, including consulting with customers, reviewing service standards, developing service agreements, identifying improvement opportunities, and communicating service levels
  • The candidates should be able to lead, oversee, and participate in a wide range of short and long-term initiatives assigned by the AVP, overseeing the progress of FSI initiatives for reporting and follow-up action
  • The candidates should be able to develop project portfolio status reports
  • The candidates should be able to assess process maturity, identify as-is and to-be states, and create implementation plans
  • The candidates should be able to conduct resourcing analysis across FSI, identify staffing requirements, develop competency development initiatives, recruit, train, mentor/coach, motivate, conduct performance evaluations, and support professional development
  • The candidates should be able to set strategic direction and provide guidance, leadership, and communication to enhance FSI’s approach to business planning and quality management
  • The candidates should be able to lead and facilitate a cross-departmental team, developing policies, strategies, QMS documents, business processes, and procedures
  • The candidates should be able to lead the establishment of measures, benchmarks, and targets for service levels and performance assets
  • The candidates should be able to collaborate among Facilities teams to identify short, medium, and long-term business planning and investment needs, including shortfalls and associated risks
  • The candidates should be able to facilitate sound financial planning for the business unit, maintaining an effective financial forecasting and budgetary process
  • The candidates should be able to participate in the development of multi-year planning for new programs and strategic initiatives, monitor spending against budget, conduct regular financial reviews, prepare and oversee a wide variety of financial reports, assist in the development of the ABB model, provide analyses, projections, and presentations of financial data, and ensure compliance with regulations and policies for funded projects
  • The candidates should be able to participate in other duties, special projects, and initiatives, including representing the department on College-wide and external committees
