Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the Inuktut, English or French Language
Education: Candidates should have a recognized undergraduate Degree in a healthcare profession (such as Nursing)
Experience: Candidates should have three (3) years of work experience in diagnosis and treatment of TB, population health, health promotion and/or health care management

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have previous experience using epidemiological information through SPSS, STATA, and SAS
  • The candidates should possess a Master’s degree in public health and certification as a Nurse Practitioner
  • The candidates should acknowledge that this is a Highly Sensitive Position, requiring a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, along with a clear Vulnerable Sector Check
  • The candidates should have fluency in more than one of Nunavut’s official languages
  • The candidates should have knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut, and experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to report to the Deputy Chief Medical Officer of Health
  • The candidates should be able to lead territory-wide efforts aimed at the effective prevention, identification, and appropriate treatment of tuberculosis (TB) and promotion of conditions under which the disease can be eliminated
  • The candidates should be able to provide territorial leadership and expertise in both program design and implementation to ensure that a new TB program is established, coordinated, and implemented in accordance with current evidence-based protocols and standards in the treatment of TB

Benefits:

  • The candidates will get Northern Allowance $16,008 per year
