Work setting: Work in employer’s/client’s home
Target audience: Elderly
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 7 months
Credentials: CPR Certificate and First Aid Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be non-smokers
- The candidates should be physically fit and capable of performing bending, crouching, kneeling, and walking as necessary
- The candidates should be prepared for demanding tasks and comfortable with sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods
- The candidates should be able to handle weights up to 9 kg (20 lbs) and be prepared for repetitive tasks
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should prioritize punctuality and demonstrate a strong focus on client satisfaction in their work
- The candidates should be dependable and possess efficient interpersonal skills, exhibiting excellent oral communication abilities
- The candidates should display flexibility, demonstrate initiative in problem-solving, and exercise sound judgment in decision-making
- The candidates should maintain a high level of organization, be reliable, and meet their commitments in completing assigned tasks
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to administer bedside and personal care, including assisting in regular exercise like walking, feeding, and providing companionship
- The candidates should be capable of administering medications and performing light housekeeping and cleaning duties, including laundering clothing and household linens
- The candidates should be able to provide personal care, shop for food and household supplies, and prepare and serve nutritious meals
