SOS Division of Family Practice based in Summerland, BC is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Medical office assistant. SOS Division of Family Practice aims to address healthcare challenges in the region by advocating for its members and developing innovative solutions to improve patient care. Some of our Division’s key initiatives include supporting physician recruitment and retention, implementing electronic medical records, and providing professional development opportunities for our members. We play a vital role in enhancing the delivery of primary healthcare in the region and improving health outcomes for patients. The candidates who will get selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Job Description:

Salary: $18.00 to $23.00 hourly (to be negotiated) 20 to 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Part time leading to full time
Location: Summerland, BC
Shifts
: Day, Evening, Morning
Work setting: Health care institution, facility or clinic

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as college, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Computer and technology knowledge: Electronic medical records

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorized (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to greet people and direct them to contacts or service areas
  • The candidates should be able to provide basic information to clients and the public, record and relay information
  • The candidates should be able to obtain and process information required to provide services, operate switchboard or telephone system
  • The candidates should be able to schedule and confirm appointments, send invoices, receive and issue payments
  • The candidates should be able to answer telephone and relay telephone calls and messages, calculate billing charges
