Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience in a manufacturing environment
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be highly motivated and able to work well with minimal supervision
- The candidates should be capable of heavy lifting and the ability to work well in a team environment and available for rotating shifts and weekends
- The candidates should have a sense of urgency and attention to detail and strong team players with the ability to work alone
- The candidates should be able to work from drawings, written or verbal instructions, and sketches
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have a valid Ontario Millwright license and safety conscious
- The candidates should have experience in welding and plumbing and experience in operating powered material handling equipment such as walkies and forklifts
- The candidates should have a full complement of personal or professional hand tools and basic computer ability coupled with strong communication skills
- The candidates should be able to have proficient knowledge in the use of computerized maintenance management systems
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to enhance equipment performance, recommend improvements, and implement them
- The candidates should be able to install, troubleshoot, and repair complex production equipment with minimum supervision
- The candidates should be able to troubleshoot and identify mechanical or electrical problems
- The candidates should be able to perform PM (preventative maintenance) procedures in a 24-hour/day operation
- The candidates should be able to ensure all job-related operations are in compliance with GMPs, HACCP, WHMIS, and health and safety requirements
