Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completion of current registration in good standing with a Canadian registered nursing regulatory body
Experience: Candidates should have experience in a supervisory role leading a team in a health care setting
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be willing to work occasional extended hours into evenings, on weekends, and on statutory holidays
- The candidates should expect regular exposure to infectious agents and ability to lead, instruct, and counsel
- The candidates should have the willingness and ability to travel by road and air and ability to lift up to 15 kg
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have significant immunization experience in a community health nursing role
- The candidates should have recent substantial experience in community public health nursing and experience in rural or northern outpost locations and experience in supervising or managing the delivery of community health or public health programs
- The candidates should have strong knowledge of community health programs and strong leadership skills
- The candidates should have excellent interpersonal skills, communication, organization, and flexibility and a clear understanding of confidentiality and privacy
- The candidates should obtain RCMP Security Clearance with a vulnerable sector check and complete TB risk screening, valid driver’s license, current Yukon RN registration in good standing and current CPR HCP certification
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to efficiently and effectively operate Whitehorse Health Centre and its satellite clinic at NVD Place
- The candidates should be able to ensure the delivery of quality Public Health programs and services to clients in the Whitehorse area
