Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have High school or equivalent diploma
Experience: Candidates should have six months of job experience

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should provide assistance with all first aid needs and support operations
  • The candidates should greet all new hires for the site, either within a setting at New Hire Orientation or through one-on-one interaction
  • The candidates should participate, as needed, in incident investigations and weekly case management review meetings

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be certified to teach first aid, CPR, and AED training from the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Red Cross
  • The candidates should have experience with an industrial wellness program, experience coaching on body mechanics, experience managing musculoskeletal disorders and experience in ergonomics
  • The candidates should have a passion for promoting health and wellness and be proficient in digital recordkeeping and Microsoft Office
  • The candidates should have experience with federal and province-specific regulations and experience with Workers Compensation
  • The candidates should hold certification in the last three years as a Valid Provincial Primary Care Paramedic Certification from the Ministry of Health AND/OR the Canadian Organization of Paramedic Regulators
  • The candidates should possess a current valid Emergency Medical Technician Basic Certification from the Department of Health AND/OR the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT)
  • The candidates should be a Licensed Practical Nurse from the Ministry of Health AND/OR the Provincial College of Nurses AND/OR Department of Health
  • The candidates should be a Registered Practical Nurse from the Ministry of Health AND/OR the Provincial College of Nurses AND/OR Department of Health
  • The candidates should have Military Medical Technician (Canada), Combat Medic (USA), Field Medic (USA), Healthcare Specialist (USA), Hospital Corpsman (USN), and Aerospace Medical Service Technician (USAF)
  • The candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited academic institution in Exercise Sciences, Exercise Physiology, Health Sciences, and Kinesiology
  • The candidates should have a valid card evidencing successful completion of standard first aid with CPR/AED level A or C from a Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) approved certifying authority

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide triage, prompt first aid within the scope of your training, and/or referral to outside medical providers and maintain all records of care provided to AAs
  • The candidates should be able to minimize the AA risk of injury through awareness, education, and proactive engagement
  • The candidates should be able to develop a first aid care plan for AAs recovering from an injury, focused on injury improvement, including self-care instructions as needed
  • The candidates should be able to manage the workers’ compensation and return-to-work process for AAs with work-related injuries and provide daily activity logs and end-of-shift reports
  • The candidates should spend frequent time on the warehouse floor to interact and engage with AAs and managers to coach on observed at-risk work habits
  • The candidates should maintain a clean and orderly environment and monitor and ensure appropriate medical supply inventory is maintained and participate in special projects and ad hoc tasks as assigned
  • The candidates should be willing to be trained to teach First Aid/CPR/AED certification classes and should maintain composure in emergencies and lead emergency response at the site
  • The candidates should be able to communicate effectively, display professional behavior and able to multitask and have exceptional time management skills
  • The candidates should be able to work in and embrace an inclusive and diverse atmosphere and follow direction, policy, and procedures as per Amazon and local regulation
