Salary: $17.00 to $19.00 hourly (To be negotiated) 38 to 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time

Shifts: Day, Weekend, Morning
Work setting: Department store, hardware store, retail business, and hobby/crafts/novelty store
Type of product: Building materials (other than lumber), flooring, paint and wallpaper, and kitchen cabinets

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Security and safety: Bondable

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • The candidates should be capable of bending, crouching, and kneeling as part of their duties
  • The candidates should be able to handle heavy loads as needed
  • The candidates should be prepared for physically demanding tasks
  • The candidates should be able to perform repetitive tasks efficiently
  • The candidates should be capable of lifting up to 45 kg (100 lbs) when required

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to accept cash, cheque, credit card, or automatic debit payment and operate a cash register, computerized inventory record-keeping, and re-ordering systems
  • The candidates should be able to provide advice about merchandise, assist in the display of merchandise, estimate or quote prices, credit or contract terms, warranties, and delivery dates, and greet customers
  • The candidates should be able to maintain sales records for inventory control, prepare merchandise for purchase, rental, or lease, and prepare sales, rental, or leasing contracts while accepting various forms of payment
