Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completion of a 3-year diploma in a landscape or technology program Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering Technology and Landscape Design
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of three years of progressive experience
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have demonstrated project management skills, organizational skills, attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills, the capability to provide guidance on procedures, and the ability to work independently
- The candidates should have a technical understanding of the planning, design, and construction of sports fields, trails, parks, and playgrounds
- The candidates should have highly developed written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be proficient in the use of ArcGIS and GIS applications for the upkeep and development of inventory databases and mapping
- The candidates should be proficient in the use of AutoCAD, be skilled with computer applications, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
- The candidates should have an OACETT designation, a PMP designation, skills in Cartegraph
- The candidates should have a valid G-class driver’s license with access to a personal vehicle
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to coordinate parks operational maintenance contracts and manage data within the parks operations teams
- The candidates should be able to lead the development of standard operating procedure and coordinate the implementation and maintenance of Cartegraph
- The candidates should be able to review site plans and engineering drawings to assess operating impacts and provide recommendations
- The candidates should be able to oversee and execute minor capital projects and annual service contracts for parks and trails operations
- The candidates should be able to monitor and inspect operational projects and contracts and review operating costs and develop estimates
- The candidates should be able to maintain trail counters, analyze data, and manage inventories of park
- The candidates should be able to provide technical expertise on a wide range of park-related projects
