Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience in employment tax compliance, with a focus on U.S. and Canada

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a passion for continuous process improvement and simplification

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess significant prior professional work experience with demonstrated achievement and leadership in understanding employment tax processes, regulatory compliance, and operations and service-oriented environments
  • The candidates should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to organize and analyze data
  • The candidates should demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The candidates should have strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment tax regulations

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to implement and maintain controls and deadlines to ensure proper and timely payment for all federal, state, and local tax payments
  • The candidates should be able to assist with the review, in collaboration with Finance, for tax payments, returns, reconciliations, and reporting to ensure they are accurate and timely
  • The candidates should be able to lead efforts for the registration of new State, SUI or Local payroll tax
  • The candidates should be able to develop and implement best practices for employment tax compliance across the US and Canada
  • The candidates should be able to train employees involved in payroll processing on tax regulations and best practices
  • The candidates should be able to oversee and ensure compliance in payroll tax and regulatory reporting, as well as year-end payroll tax reporting
  • The candidates should be able to develop the strategy to complete the year-end tax reporting and filing process
  • The candidates should be able to review W4’s and T4’s with senior leaders to explain withholding amounts
  • The candidates should be able to ensure high quality and accuracy of service delivery through the ticketing tool Service Now for all payroll tax, HR compliance, and privacy-related employee questions
