Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have 5 years of experience in a computerized payroll environment

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be detail-oriented with strong attention to accuracy, highly organized with the ability to prioritize and maintain trust and confidentiality

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a working knowledge of payroll, provincial health, and labor legislation across Canada
  • The candidates should be proficient in Microsoft Office, CPA or CPM designation and experience using HRIS and Payroll systems
  • The candidates should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and fluency in French (both written and verbal)
  • The candidates should passionately live Company Values and actively support the attainment of the Company’s Vision and Mission

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to act as a backup to the Team Leader, Payroll and process biweekly payroll for employees, prepare special payments, and correct pay errors
  • The candidates should be able to gather, calculate, and input payroll information into the payroll system and perform bi-weekly audits on payroll data entry
  • The candidates should be able to balance and submit fixed and voluntary benefit remittances, payroll remittances, and garnishments and and verify all payroll data and create required journal entries
  • The candidates should be able to work with Finance to balance all payroll-related accounts – bi-weekly, monthly, and annually
  • The candidates should be able to administer year-end payroll processes and communicate with Team Members and Team Leaders regarding questions on payroll information
  • The candidates should be able to address government and other external inquiries and run regular bi-weekly, monthly, and year-end reports
  • The candidates should be able to be a key contributor to financial auditing functions and process terminations, leaves of absence, and records of employment
