Salary: $19.00 to $21.60 hourly (To be negotiated) for 35 hours per week
Employment Type: Term or contract Full time
Location: 31 McGill Place Thompson, MB R8N 0H9
Shifts: Evening, Overtime, Flexible Hours

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Asset languages: Cree and Chipewyan
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Computer and technology knowledge: Electronic mail and MS Office 
Credentials: Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), Mental Health First Aid Certificate, Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, and CPR Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check and vulnerable sector check

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment, capable of working effectively under pressure
  • The candidates should demonstrate attention to detail in their work while being capable of working effectively under pressure

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be accurate in their work and possess efficient interpersonal skills, demonstrating excellent oral communication abilities
  • The candidates should exhibit interpersonal awareness and exercise sound judgment in decision-making, upholding values and ethics in their work
  • The candidates should prioritize client focus and have excellent written communication skills, demonstrating flexibility in their approach to tasks
  • The candidates should show initiative in taking on tasks and finding solutions, being team players capable of collaborating effectively with colleagues, and being well-organized

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to prepare reports or case histories accurately and perform administrative and office activities proficiently
  • The candidates should be able to appraise clients’ needs or eligibility for specific services effectively and assess clients’ relevant skill strengths and development needs meticulously
  • The candidates should be able to conduct follow-up assessments diligently and engage in housekeeping activities efficiently
  • The candidates should be able to prepare food effectively and provide suicide and crisis intervention professionally
  • The candidates should be able to resolve conflict situations appropriately and liaise with other social services agencies and health care providers involved with clients effectively
  • The candidates should be able to maintain program statistics for purposes of evaluation and research accurately and screen, recruit, and train volunteers and support staff proficiently
  • The candidates should be able to assist clients/guests with special needs diligently
