Colonial Farms Ltd based in Armstrong, BC is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Poultry packager. Colonial Farms Ltd is a leading agricultural enterprise specializing in the cultivation and distribution of premium quality produce. With a focus on sustainable farming practices, Colonial Farms harnesses the fertile lands of British Columbia to grow an array of fresh fruits and vegetables. The candidates selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible. The position of Poultry packager is approved by LMIA (Labour Market Impact Assessment)

Salary: $17.97 to $21.42 hourly (To be negotiated) for 40 hours per week

Shifts: Day, Evening, Shift, Flexible Hours, Early Morning, Morning, 06:00 to 18:00

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to tolerate odors associated with the work environment and work in cold or refrigerated environments
  • The candidates should be comfortable working in hot conditions as well as wet or damp conditions
  • The candidates should possess good manual dexterity for tasks requiring precision and be capable of performing repetitive tasks with accuracy and efficiency
  • The candidates should be able to stand for extended periods during work shifts, handle heavy loads safely and effectively, and be physically fit to meet the demands of the job
  • The candidates should demonstrate attention to detail in all aspects of their work, be comfortable with bending, crouching, and kneeling as part of job requirements, and thrive in a fast-paced work environment
  • The candidates should be able to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines, manage tasks efficiently despite tight deadlines, and be prepared for a combination of sitting, standing, and walking throughout the workday

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should prioritize client focus, ensuring their needs are met promptly and effectively, and possess efficient interpersonal skills to interact smoothly with clients and colleagues
  • The candidates should demonstrate flexibility in adapting to changing situations and tasks, be reliable, consistently meeting deadlines and fulfilling responsibilities, and work well as part of a team, contributing positively to group dynamics
  • The candidates should take initiative in identifying and addressing issues proactively, strive for accuracy in their work, paying attention to detail, and excel in oral communication, conveying information clearly and persuasively
  • The candidates should demonstrate good judgment in decision-making and problem-solving, and maintain an organized approach to their work, managing tasks efficiently

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to transport raw materials, finished products, and packaging materials, as well as feed and unload processing machines
  • The candidates should be able to remove filled containers from conveyors and manually pack goods into bags, boxes, or other containers
  • The candidates should be able to check products and packaging for basic quality defects, assist process control and machine operators, and clean machines and immediate work areas
