Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field
Computer and technology knowledge: Candidates should have basic computer skills
Security and safety: Pre-Employment Alcohol and Drug Test

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be willing and able to work shift work, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays, with the potential for up to 12-hour shifts
  • The candidates should strictly adhere to WestJet safety policies while performing their assigned duties and be capable of repetitively lifting up to 100 lbs. while working within strict timelines for SPOT (safely performing on time)
  • The candidates should possess the physical capabilities to bend, kneel, crawl, stoop, climb repetitively, work in confined spaces, and operate effectively outdoors in all weather conditions

Other Requirements:

    • The candidates should be aware that all offers of employment are conditional on passing a pre-employment drug screening test and holding a valid Provincial Driver’s License (PDL) with a clean driver’s abstract
    • The candidates should be capable of obtaining and maintaining an Airside Vehicle Operator’s permit (AVOP/DA) within two months of hire, meeting role-specific qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should ensure the timely and proper delivery of connecting and local baggage in alignment with established standards and Key Performance Indicators
  • The candidates should maintain regular communication with 3rd Party Ground Crew Chiefs to ensure thorough briefing on flight planning and operations
  • The candidates should perform various tasks, including offloading and transporting baggage, operating ground service equipment, conducting maintenance checks, monitoring parked and RON aircraft, promptly reporting safety hazards and incidents, and fulfilling other responsibilities vital for the safe and efficient operation of the ramp
