Bunge based in Nipawin, SK is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Refinery Supervisor, 3rd Class Power Engineering. Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have technical Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field is preferred
Experience: Candidates should have 5+ years of experience (or equivalent combination of education and years of experience) in oil refining or related and applicable activities

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have the ability to work on call, weekends, and a rotating shift schedule as required
  • The candidates should be prepared for a work schedule of 12-hour rotating shifts

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess a 3rd Class Power Engineering Certification
  • The candidates should demonstrate proficiency with basic computer skills, including Outlook, Microsoft Word, and other technical software packages, as needed

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to cultivate a safety culture where unsafe acts are not tolerated, and employees and management have a common goal of zero injuries
  • The candidates should be able to oversee Refinery activities to ensure operations are running at the highest levels of efficiency
  • The candidates should be able to ensure the Refinery department is compliant with sanitation requirements and may provide support in the monthly sanitation inspections and implementation of any corrective actions as necessary
  • The candidates should be able to track and report Refinery productivity improvements
  • The candidates should be able to approve daily reports and KPRs for the Refinery department
  • The candidates should be able to report and troubleshoot operations issues
  • The candidates should be able to provide input to the Mgr-Production Operations and/or Plant Manager to plan annual shutdowns
  • The candidates should be able to support Process Safety Management programs
  • The candidates should be able to work with the Safety/Environmental Manager to ensure compliance of the Refinery in all aspects
  • The candidates should be able to help develop and drive Operations Excellence Plans to meet safety, quality, and production goals and show continuous improvement in the Refinery department
  • The candidates should be able to support the continuous improvement activities and act as a change agent for any changes that occur in the Refinery department
  • The candidates should be able to monitor KPR’s and help develop plans to bring the Refinery in line with Operations Excellence goals
  • The candidates should be able to participate in the daily production meetings to remain informed and ensure that the assigned shift operations activities are aligned
  • The candidates should be able to participate in personnel investigations and recommend corrective actions as necessary
