Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and are currently registered with the Provincial Association of Registered Nurses
Experience: Candidates should have experience working with the elderly in a seniors’ living or long-term care environment
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have the ability to work a schedule of flexible hours
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be passionate about working with seniors
- The candidates should possess comprehensive knowledge of nursing and health care practices, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills
- The candidates should have advanced proficiency in the English language as required, and proficiency in the French language is considered as an asset
- The candidates should be able to provide a CPR & Emergency First Aid Certificate, Clear Criminal Record Check, and Vulnerable Sector Screening upon hire
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to assess, plan, evaluate, document, and direct residents’ needs through consultation with medical professionals, care conferences, and team members
- The candidates should be able to provide leadership to health services staff and oversee the provision of quality health services while respecting the resident’s right to individualized planning of health services
- The candidates should be able to work with existing management and health services teams to promote communication and compliance with policies and procedures
- The candidates should be able to assist with the development, implementation, and evaluation of resident care plans
- The candidates should be able to administer and record prescribed medication as per company policy and scope of practice
- The candidates should be able to apply dressings and treatments according to physician’s orders and policy
- The candidates should be able to assist with the supervision and evaluation of job performance of care staff
