Salary: $28.36 to $29.31 hourly (To be negotiated) for 16 to 54 hours bi-weekly
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Windsor, ON
Shifts: Day, Evening, Night
Work setting: Nursing home/home for the aged
Supervision: Staff in various areas of responsibility, 11-15 people
Requirements:
Languages:Â Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Bachelor’s degree
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Area of specialization: Geriatrics
Credentials: CPR Certificate, First Aid Certificate, and Eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse by the province/territory of work
Security and safety: Criminal record check, Tuberculosis test, and Vulnerable sector check
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to work under pressure and demonstrate attention to detail
- The candidates should be able to stand for extended periods and perform activities such as bending, crouching, and kneeling
- The candidates should be comfortable with sitting
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be accurate, possess efficient interpersonal skills, and have a client focus
- The candidates should have excellent oral and written communication skills and demonstrate reliability
- The candidates should exhibit initiative, exercise good judgment, and be organized
- The candidates should be team players
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to assess patients to identify appropriate nursing interventions and provide nursing care
- The candidates should be able to collaborate with members of an interdisciplinary health team to plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate patient care in consultation with patients and their families, and supervise licensed practical nurses and other nursing staff
- The candidates should be able to dispense and administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician, address and document symptoms and changes in patients’ conditions, and provide supportive counseling and life skills programming
- The candidates should be able to deliver immunization programs and operate or monitor medical apparatus or equipment
