Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English and French Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of University degree
Experience: Candidates should have three years’ experience directly relevant to the assignment

  • The candidates should possess deep knowledge of and interest in the arts scene in the Outaouais and Eastern Ontario
  • The candidates should have an innovative mindset
  • The candidates should have a solid command of spoken and written French
  • The candidates should have intermediate oral, writing, and reading proficiency in English (BBB)

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate should be able to be a cornerstone of the digital strategy, focused on writing articles and producing video and audio to connect and engage with audiences
  • The candidate should be able to prepare digital content in conjunction with the arts team, occasionally covering events for radio and television
  • The candidate should be able to find original stories in their area of interest, demonstrating creativity and agility, while being a good team player capable of handling stress
  • The candidate should be able to have a strong knowledge and understanding of CBC/Radio-Canada’s Journalistic Standards and Practices
  • The candidate should be able to demonstrate and promote the values of an inclusive and respectful work culture, and possess knowledge of the people, communities, and culture of the National Capital Region, the Outaouais, and Eastern Ontario
  • The candidate should be able to work in accordance with CBC/Radio-Canada’s journalistic and programming policies, practices and standards
  • The candidate should be able to pitch and produce digital video projects and online articles
  • The candidate should be able to pitch and produce stories for radio and television and to package digital stories with the best photos, titles, leads, links, and other multimedia elements
  • The candidate should be able to conduct interviews to enrich web production, writing copy and editing clips for radio and have sound knowledge of various digital formats and best practices
  • The candidate should be able to pitch and produce original story ideas for both digital and current affairs programming and prepare coverage plans and deployments
