Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should hold a Master’s degree in a discipline that has instilled very strong writing and research experience, including Social Sciences/Humanities (preferred), Natural Sciences/Engineering, Health Sciences, or Arts
Experience: Candidates should have 5 years of experience in research grant writing and managing and tracking the administration of large and small-scale research projects, including milestones, budgeting, and reporting (equivalency will be considered)
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should possess an understanding of research funding sources and an ability to assist researchers in developing competitive funding proposals in a range of disciplines, primarily within the humanities and social sciences but including other disciplines as required
- The candidates should be in Possession of a Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate will be considered an asset
- The candidates should have an understanding of Intellectual Property and commercialization will be considered an asset
- The candidates should have the skills and knowledge to work with an increasingly diverse faculty, staff, and student population as well as a proven commitment to anti-oppression, equity, and inclusion
- The candidates should demonstrate initiative and excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills that enable them to independently seek out answers, resolve unexpected challenges, prioritize, balance, and manage multiple complex and competing demands

- The candidates should have proven relationship management skills and a solid client service orientation that enable them to establish and nurture trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders, supporting the ongoing reputation of the GSO and ensuring Sheridan researchers and our partners are well supported in their research activities
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to provide leadership and support to Faculties, Research and Entrepreneurship Centres, students, and external partners through the full research project lifecycle, through idea formulation and scoping, funding proposal development and administration (projects will be in a range of disciplines depending on current priorities, primarily including social science and humanities, but may also include business, arts and science and technology)
- The candidates should be able to develop and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities for collaborative applied research projects, and ensure the success of funded projects
- The candidates should be able to proactively monitor the research landscape and seek out and disseminate new opportunities for external research funding
- The candidates should be able to work with research teams to: identify suitable external funding opportunities; develop and shape project ideas, methodologies, and budgets; provide a critical review and edit of research funding proposals for the strongest chance of award success; and write institutional-level content for funding proposals
- The candidates should be able to lead the administrative management for funded projects (with researchers, external partners, and research finance teams), including facilitation of legal agreements, high-level monitoring of milestones and budgets, providing research guidance (within the limits of his/her knowledge and experience), and submission of reports to the funding body; this includes ensuring compliance with all College and Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship strategies, policies, and procedures and funding agency requirements
- The candidates should be able to engage with industry and community partners regarding their research needs and promote an awareness of Sheridan College’s research expertise and capacity, and liaise internally to connect partners with researchers at Sheridan
- The candidates should be able to develop tools and other supports and deliver training and education, in a variety of topics related to research, research administration, equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) in research and research ethics, to build awareness and capacity for engaging in research across Sheridan’s Faculties and Research Centres
- The candidates should be able to support the capturing of success stories, outcomes, and metrics of research projects for dissemination and reporting
- The candidates should be able to perform other related duties, as assigned
