Mandarin kanata is a culinary gem renowned for its exquisite Chinese-Canadian buffet experience. Shifts: Day, Evening, Weekend, Shift, Overtime, On Call, Flexible Hours
Transportation information: Valid driver’s licence and Own vehicle
Work setting: Urban area
Supervision: 5-10 people and 16-20 people

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Asset languages: Mandarin and Cantonese
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 3 to less than 5 years
Computer and technology knowledge: Electronic cash register, MS Access, MS Excel, MS Office, MS Word, Point of sale system, Spreadsheet
Credentials: Beverage services manager certification, Food service manager certification, Smart Serve, First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment and capable of handling tasks under pressure
  • The candidates should be adept at performing repetitive tasks with attention to detail and have experience in handling heavy loads as part of their job responsibilities
  • The candidates should be physically fit to meet the demands of a physically demanding role and possess a keen attention to detail in their work
  • The candidates should be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking throughout the workday and be able to stand for extended periods as required

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate daily operations, determine the type of services to be offered, and implement operational procedures
  • The candidates should be able to balance cash, complete balance sheets, cash reports, and related forms, and conduct performance reviews
  • The candidates should be able to cost products and services, enforce provincial/territorial liquor legislation and regulations, and organize and maintain inventory
  • The candidates should be able to monitor revenues, modify procedures and prices, ensure health and safety regulations are followed, and negotiate arrangements with suppliers for food and other supplies
  • The candidates should be able to negotiate with clients for catering or use of facilities, develop, implement, and analyze budgets, and participate in marketing plans and implementation
  • The candidates should be able to set staff work schedules, monitor staff performance, address customers’ complaints or concerns, provide customer service, and recruit, train, and supervise staff
