Salary: $33.01 to $40.25 hourly (To be negotiated) for 40 to 80 hours bi-weekly
Employment Type: Permanent employment Part time leading to full time
Location: Antigonish, NS
Shifts: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift, Overtime, On Call, To be determined, Morning
Work setting: Nursing home/home for the aged
Supervision: 5-10 people
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Bachelor’s degree
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Area of specialization: Geriatrics, Mental health
Credentials: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate, CPR Certificate, eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse by the province/territory of work, licensure as a Registered Nurse by provincial or territorial authorities
Security and safety: Criminal record check, Vulnerable sector check
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should exhibit meticulous attention to detail in all tasks and be capable of bending, crouching, and kneeling as necessary for the job
- They should be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage a large workload effectively
- The candidates should be willing to work overtime when required and be comfortable standing for extended periods during their duties
- They should be adept at meeting tight deadlines and performing well under pressure
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate accuracy in their work, attention to detail, and prioritize client focus to ensure client satisfaction in all interactions
- The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills for effective communication with clients and colleagues, exhibiting excellent oral and strong written communication abilities
- The candidates should be flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances and tasks, showing initiative in taking proactive steps to address challenges, improve processes, and exercise good judgment in decision-making and problem-solving situations
- The candidates should maintain organization in their work methods and tasks, being reliable in fulfilling their duties and commitments, and being effective team players collaborating with colleagues to achieve common goals
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to assess patients to identify appropriate nursing interventions, collaborate to plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate patient care, and dispense and administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician
- The candidates should be able to monitor, assess, address, document, and report symptoms and changes in patients’ conditions, participate in community needs assessment and program development, and provide nursing care
- The candidates should be able to supervise licensed practical nurses and other nursing staff and perform administrative tasks
