Job Description:

Position: School social worker

Salary: $55,000 to $70,000 annually (to be negotiated) 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Term or contract (ending: 2024-06-28) Full time
Location: Peace River, AB
Shifts: Day
Transportation information: Valid driver’s licence, Own vehicle
Work setting: School or educational institution/establishment

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as bachelor’s degree
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Target audience: 
Children, Family
Social work specialization: Socio-economic needs or conditions, Education and training, Child welfare
Counselling specialization: At risk students, Crisis intervention
Security and safety: Child Abuse Registry check, Criminal record check

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should be dependable
  • The candidates should have excellent oral communication, excellent written communication, and efficient interpersonal skills

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorized (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to perform administrative tasks
  • The candidates should be able to plan programs of assistance for clients
  • The candidates should be able to deliver presentations at conferences, workshops or symposia
