Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to develop and implement approved business systems based on guidelines provided by supervisors or other staff groups for economic justification, budget preparation, and data collection for economic analysis
- The candidates should be able to continuously review systems to ensure compliance with changing financial needs and modify and develop reporting systems, work methods, and procedures to ensure comprehensive data acquisition and notify relevant personnel and provide advice and guidance to divisional personnel, regional staff, and other personnel conducting work programs under divisional responsibility, ensuring sufficient access to essential information
- The candidates should be able to participate in business plans and budget preparation by gathering departmental and regional data, assessing information, and compiling into appropriate formats
- The candidates should be able to assess submitted plans and budgets for accuracy and consistency with approved business plans, and report, analyze, and explain budget variances and supply guidelines, clarify instructions, and address encountered problems
- The candidates should be able to identify problem areas, discuss with supervisors and department managers, and develop and implement revised systems to meet immediate and review, revise, and coordinate reporting systems to assess impact on the division, ensuring alignment with corporate and divisional
- The candidates should be able to assist departments in defining requirements and evaluating annual outputs to provide clearer insight into ongoing work and associated benefits and provide business support for project administration within the division, including activities related to release, work order management, and reporting
- The candidates should be able to conduct research into effective methods of describing and measuring outputs to satisfy corporate financial requirements and internal objectives, collaborating with affected groups and address day-to-day operational issues within assigned responsibilities, attend staff meetings, and participate in task forces and gather relevant data, evaluate findings, and submit recommendations or findings to supervisors for consideration
- The candidates should be able to prepare and review financial evaluations of expenditure decisions to ensure compliance with corporate and branch requirements, accuracy of financial assessments, use of appropriate escalation and present value factors, analytical soundness of financial evaluations, and correct identification of preferred financial alternatives
- The candidates should be able to assign tasks to staff, provide guidance on expected results, conduct periodic progress checks, identify areas of concern, and report staff performance details to supervisors
- The candidates should be able to conduct studies on effective management and control of accounting and service operations, and provide professional advice and guidance to divisional personnel on interpretation and application of corporate and branch financial evaluation, internal control policies, procedures, practices, and guidelines
