Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have qualifications such as possess a degree in Architecture
Experience: Candidates should have Experience in project management and contract administration

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to travel to various locations around the Province via air or ground transportation
  • The candidates should be able to work overtime as required

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be licensed as a registered architect with The Manitoba Association of Architects (MAA). If registered in another Canadian jurisdiction, the member must be eligible for registration with the MAA through the Reciprocity Agreement of Canadian Architectural Licensing Authorities
  • The candidates should have expertise in architectural practices including facility space planning and programming, drawing and specifications development, review and coordination, project budgeting, and standards development
  • The candidates should have knowledge of construction practices, building codes, building envelope science, building environmental and energy considerations
  • The candidates should have experience with capital planning through condition assessment, project prioritization, scope development, and project budgeting
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to manage staff by establishing work priorities and ensuring quality deliverables
  • The candidates should have software experience, including using Word, Excel, and AutoCAD (or equivalent) and possess and maintain a valid Class 5 Driver’s License
  • The candidates should have strong interpersonal skills to establish trust with stakeholders, through conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
  • The candidates should possess strong written communication skills with the ability to prepare comprehensive reports with analysis that includes conclusions and recommendations
  • The candidates should possess strong verbal communication skills with the ability to discuss complex matters

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to be responsible for providing senior leadership and owner advocacy support to client departments and agencies of the government
  • The candidates should be able to oversee the development and maintenance of client group technical and professional standards
  • The candidates should be able to provide owner advocate support and feedback through all stages of project development for complex multi-disciplinary projects delivered by external consultant teams
  • The candidates should be able to perform and oversee facility condition assessment and planning with consideration to client portfolio objectives and policies
  • The candidates should be able to guide and oversee the in-house design and delivery of drawings and specifications issued under professional seal for select projects, including coordination of multi-disciplinary teams as required
  • The candidates should be able to advise on complex matters relating to the work performed by outside consultants and contractors that will require professional opinion and judgment, conflict resolution, guided direction, and engagement with stakeholders using constructive communications
