Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completed a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related technical or business discipline civil, electrical or mechanical engineering and project management
Experience: Candidates should have experience in preparing design and construction schedules during the early project phases
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have worked on large-scale projects and be capable of managing multiple complex projects simultaneously
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have along with progressive experience in planning and scheduling and project management, or possess a combination of education, training, and experience deemed equivalent
- The candidates should demonstrate in-depth knowledge and practical experience related to planning and scheduling through the entire project lifecycle, with a strong understanding of integration between project functions
- The candidates should understand basic engineering and construction methodologies and be able to read construction drawings and specifications, demonstrate mastery of planning and scheduling principles and methods, and gate processes, with full project lifecycle experience
- The candidates should have experience with all aspects of the Master Project Schedule, including Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning Schedules, as well as cost control and project controls in a construction environment
- The candidates should demonstrate familiarity with various project delivery models, such as Design-Build, Progressive Design-Build, and Construction Manager at Risk, possess strong communication and influencing skills and maintain collaborative work relationships
- The candidates should have experience performing time impact analysis, what-if scenarios, and recovery schedules, possess excellent project reporting skills, including schedule analysis, variance analysis, performance measurements, explanation of KPIs, and the creation of dashboards and reports
- The candidates should demonstrate leadership skills in goal-setting, performance management, employee development, and coaching, review and evaluate recommendations using independent judgment to ensure alignment with business goals
- The candidates should demonstrate strong time management skills to prioritize and balance competing demands in a deadline-driven environment, possess strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills for handling large datasets
- The candidates should be familiar with TTC and departmental policies, practices, and standards related to the work or quickly acquire comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and related orders, including disability accommodation and accessibility requirements for passengers and employees
- The candidates should hold or pursue certification as a Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP) with AACE or Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP) with PMI
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to provide functional leadership to the assigned project teams and Project Schedulers, ensuring the provision of planning and scheduling services while supervising the team, delegating and reviewing work, and evaluating performance
- The candidates should be able to support the project team and schedulers in conducting interactive planning sessions and pull planning workshops to facilitate effective project execution
- The candidates should be able to collaborate with other project controls functional areas to assist in the estimation process, project cost baseline development, risk evaluation, and change management processes
- The candidates should be able to lead planning workshops with various stakeholders, ensuring the development of detailed and consistent design and construction schedules during the early stages of the project attend internal and external integration and interface meetings to effectively manage and align the project’s execution strategy
- The candidates should be able to prepare the project controls section of the dashboard and executive reports, analyzing data to identify trends, continuous improvement opportunities, and potential risks
- The candidates should be able to continuously review processes and systems to increase efficiency and effectiveness within the project’s planning and scheduling functions
- The candidates should be able to promote a respectful work and service environment that fosters diversity, inclusion, and a culture free from harassment and discrimination
- The candidates should be able to provide leadership in the implementation of inclusive and accessible policies, programs, and services, ensuring compliance with TTC’s commitments under the Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC), the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), and TTC’s policies
