Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have two year college diploma
Experience: Candidates should have three years office administration and customer service experience, including event and communication support
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be flexible with work hours, including occasional availability on weekends and weeknights
- The candidates should be able to prioritize and complete tasks thoroughly and within tight time frames, while paying strict attention to detail
- The candidates should have good judgment and tact, with the ability to interact fairly and professionally with alumni, donors, partners, and members of the senior executive who request information or assistance
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have strong organizational and administrative skills and keep careful records of engagement activities, such as minutes, activity coding in databases, and social media engagements
- The candidates should possess excellent interpersonal skills and customer service abilities
- The candidates should have excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience supporting event planning and coordination
- The candidates should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with Access, HTML, Banner, and WordPress
- The candidates should have experience with databases and associated research methods and knowledge of general office practices
- The candidates should have knowledge of the Kanata Technology Park or the Kanata North Business Association
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to report to the Director of Operations at the Kanata Office
- The candidates should be able to serve as the Site Coordinator at CU@Kanata, committed to improving engagement with community members and enhancing the Carleton University brand in the Technology Park
- The candidates should be able to act as a key contact for community and industry stakeholders
- The candidates should be able to coordinate and collaborate with both internal (co-op, careers, faculty members, students, association groups, Innovation Hub, and other university units) and external stakeholders (vendors, service providers, and partners)
- The candidates should be able to perform reception tasks, administrative duties, and event activities and support the team with communication and project work
- The candidates should be able to work flexible hours, as some activities may take place outside of normal working hours and work five days a week in person at the Kanata office
